Background:
The previous IGA which, enacted July 1, 2003, has been proposed amending in order to increase support to Huachuca City for their animal shelter efforts. It has been the topic of conversation to increase support to the Huachuca City animal shelter, as the previous IGA had not been amended to take into consideration increases related to those costs of running such a facility. Funding for this facility will ensure the facility remains in a shape conducive with positive public interaction. Huachuca City offers our Animal Control Officers, within the Sheriff’s Department, 24-hour support through caring for animals that are dropped off at the facility at any time. While this agreement does change the amount for which they’re reimbursed, it also further increases the responsibility of the City in regards to animal care after being accepted.
