Agenda Item Text:

Approve to release a hazard abatement lien on real property by Richard T. Bosma, property owner of parcel number 106-21-182, 134 E Via Chica, Huachuca City.

Background:

A hazard abatement lien was placed on parcel 106-21-182 on December 10, 2012, for $2,827.01.  The lien was placed on the property as a result of Violation VH-11-0028. On June 14, 2011, the County abated the hazard on the property by removing trash and placing plywood over the windows and doors of the building.  The property owner at the time was Jose and Israel Caro.  The current owner, Richard Bosma, three owners removed from the Caro family, was notified by the County on February 13, 2019, of the lien and request payment.  Mr. Bosma contacted the County and is requesting forgiveness of the amount owed and the lien removed.  See the attached letter and documentation.

Department's Next Steps (if approved):

If approved, the Development Services Department will record the release of lien with the Recorder's Office.

Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:

No impact to the County of not removing the lien.  The lien may be paid by the Bosma family or future owners of the property.

To BOS Staff: Document Disposition/Follow-Up:

If approved by the Board of Supervisors, please have the Chair sign the release of lien and return to Development Services.
