Approve an Intergovernmental Agreement between Cochise County and the Housing Authority of Cochise County for the Housing Opportunities for Persons With Aids (HOPWA) Program.
Background:
In September 2011 the County was awarded Performance Grant Agreement Number AZH110018 in the amount of $611,582 from US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for the Housing Opportunities for Persons With Aids (HOPWA) program. The Housing Authority of Cochise County (HACC) coordinates the activities for the HOPWA program. The Intergovernmental Agreement between the County and the Housing Authority will identify the responsibilities of the parties in regards to the HOPWA program and the proper administration of the grant and disbursement of funds.
Department's Next Steps (if approved):
The Housing Authority will move forward with the continuation of the HOPWA program.
Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:
Responsibilities between the County and the Housing Authority will not be properly defined in regards to the HOPWA grant.
