Approve Merit Commission member appointments for Mary Gomez, Jennifer Ryan, and James Vlahovich, effective March 22, 2020 through March 21, 2024.
Background:
A.R.S. 11-353 and Merit System Rule 2.1 require a five-member commission with each member serving a four-year term. Members Gomez, Ryan, and Vlahovich's wish to continue serving as members of the commission.
Department's Next Steps (if approved):
If approved, Human Resources will advise the commission members.
Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:
If not approved, the commission will only have 2 of the 5 members required and will not be able to perform its duties due to lack of quorum. The Board of Supervisors would then need to consider new applicants for appointment to the commission.
