Approve ADHS IGA2020-015, Healthy People Healthy Communities, between the Arizona Department of Health Services and Cochise County Health Department, in the amount of $554,079, effective July 1, 2020 through June 30, 2021.

Background:

In order to best implement the goals of the Arizona State Health Improvement Plan (AzHIP), ADHS developed a process to align strategies and improve integration of public health prevention programs.  Multiple bureaus within ADHS have collaborated on the development of this Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) which combines several programs into one shared IGA.  This IGA is intended to provide flexibility to best meet the needs of our local communities through high impact strategies.  Programs included in this IGA address several health priorities, including but not limited to:  cardiovascular disease, chronic lower respiratory diseases, Alzheimer’s, unintentional injury, obesity, teen pregnancy, tobacco, and access to well care.   
 
This renewed contract provides for the following:
  • Scope of Work
  • new evidence-based strategies for Tobacco, HAPI & Chronic Disease
  • new price sheet for 07/01/2020 through 06/30/2021

Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:

Not approving this amendment would result in the termination of all included Cochise County Health Department contracts to provide the services described above to improve the health of Cochise County residents.
