Thanksgiving Year 'Round Committee

Thank you to county residents for donation of foodstuffs to help local food banks and recognition of employee and non-County employee volunteers involved with the Thanksgiving Year 'Round food drive project.
Background:
Beginning in 2011, the Employee Committee involved with the Thanksgiving Year 'Round project has worked hard to get this project off the ground. The Committee has also received assistance from individuals who are not County employees. The Committee would like to recognize these individuals in a formal way through the BOS. We have invited members of the local press to be there, take pictures, and hopefully publish an article about our project as a publicity kick-off for the 2012 Food Drive and to highlight the need at local food banks who are struggling to feed many families in need. In addition, representatives from local food banks (who will be attending a meeting of the Local Board of the Emergency Food & Shelter Program immediately following the BOS meeting), have been invited to join the Board in thanking those who have volunteered.
The Committee also wishes to Thank the citizens in the communities who have donated food and Thank the Board for their continued support of this effort.
