Approve Grant Agreement GRT-20-0008048-T between the State of Arizona, Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT), Airport Pavement Maintenance System (APMS) Program in the amount of $936,734 for design and construction to resurface the runway at the Cochise County Airport in Willcox.
Background:
The Airport Pavement Management System (APMS) is established to assist in the preservation of the Arizona airport system infrastructure. Every year the ADOT Aeronautics Group identifies airport pavement maintenance projects eligible for funding for the upcoming five years. Once a project has been identified and approved for funding by the State Transportation Board, the airport sponsor may elect to accept a state grant for the project.
The amount of the Grant Agreement is $936,734; Cochise County's cash match requirement is 10% ($93,673.40) of the project cost.

If approved, the Department Director will sign the document before January 31, 2021.
Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:
If not approved, the County will forgo a nearly one million dollar investment in the airport infrastructure in Cochise County.
