Approve the Annual Joint Funding Agreement (JFA No. 2) with United States Geological Survey (USGS) in the amount of $56,500 for the period of October 1, 2011 to September 30, 2012 for the ongoing hydrologic investigations and data collection in the Upper San Pedro Basin.
Background:
This request is to help fund an annual program that the County has supported financially for a number of years. The request is for $56,500 (the same amount as last year). These funds help support the work of USGS personnel conducting hyrdrologic investigations as described in the attached Scope of Work to include: Operation of the Lewis Springs study site in the Sierra Vista Subwatershed of the Upper San Pedro Basin; Collection of stream samples and analysis of stable isotopes of water; Ground-water model support for aquifer management; Monitoring of ground-water levels.
Fiscal Impact/Funding Sources: This request for $56,500 is to be paid out of General Funds. USGS's portion is $40,800. The budget for FY2012 is also included in the Scope of Work attached.
