Agenda Item Text:
Approve Amendment 1 to Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) 2020-038 between the Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS) and Cochise Health and Social Services, for improvement of the health and well-being of America’s mothers, children, and families, to revise the contract number and terms of the IGA, effective July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2022.
Background:
The Title V Maternal and Child Health Services Block Grant funds efforts to “strengthen the family and community by promoting and improving the health status of women, infants, and children.” This amendment funds year two of the five-year grant. The objectives of this grant are to promote and implement evidence-based strategies that enhance preventive and primary care services for this population.
The evidence-based strategies selected by CHSS align with the National Performance Measures (NPM) Framework for MCH programs. The measures selected are 1) NPM #1 – Well Women Visits, 2) NPM #4 – Breastfeeding, and NPM #10 – Adolescent Well-being.
