Information
Agenda Item Text:
Approve Amendment 1 to Grant Agreement GRA-STATE-19-0968-01-Y4, Child Care Health Consultation, between First Things First and Cochise Health & Social Services to increase the annual award amount from $88,980 to $100,500, effective October 1, 2021 through June 30, 2022.
Background:
The purpose of this Amendment is to expand the number of Childcare providers who can participate in Quality First and receive Child Care Health Consultation services. The expansion of Quality First participation is to include additional childcare and preschool providers statewide during the term of this Amendment, including all of the providers on the current 2021 waitlist. Additional funds will be used to purchase infant mannequins and instructional supplies to teach CPR and First Aid to participating childcare center employees. Our current childcare consultant is a certified CPR and First Aid instructor. The remaining funds will continue to supply education materials like books, handwashing supplies, and educational materials for children and staff.
Department's Next Steps (if approved):
Once approved staff will submit the signed IGA Amendment to ADHS to be fully executed. Once returned a copy of the fully executed contract will be forwarded to the Board for their records.
Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:
Not approving this grant amendment will mean fewer childcare facilities available for services.
To BOS Staff: Document Disposition/Follow-Up:
Please forward the signed copy of the Amendment to Maria Mena, and a PDF copy of the signed amendment to Vicky King and Alicia Thompson.
