Approve appointment for the Planning and Zoning Commission of Mr. Jasper Sanger, representing District 1, for a four-year term ending December 31, 2016 and Mr. Shawn Wales, representing District 3, for a four-year term ending December 31, 2016.
Background:
The Planning and Zoning Commission consists of nine members, three members appointed by each District Supervisor and residing in their respective Supervisorial District. Planning Commissioners serve staggered four year terms and, as such, three Commissioners' terms expire each December 31st. On December 31, 2011, the term of Districts 1 and 3 Planning Commissioners. District 1 Supervisor Pat Call and District 3 Supervisor Richard Searle are recommending the above mentioned appointments of Mr. Jasper Sanger and Mr. Shawn Wales respectively for a four-year term ending on December 31, 2016.

Send appointment letter, oath of office and opening meeting law (see BOS staff notes).
Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:
There will be a vacancy on the Planning Commission for Districts 1 and 3.
To BOS Staff: Document Disposition/Follow-Up:
Please send Mr. Sanger and Mr. Wales the standard letter from the Board of Supervisor's Office affirming his appointment along with an Oath of Office and Opening Meeting Laws and provide a copy to the Planning Department. The Planning Department will send the appropriate By-Laws and training materials.
