Agenda Item Text:

Approve 318 Environmental Health Fee waivers, totaling $60,250, to be paid from the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds.

Background:

In FY22 the Board of Supervisors provided County staff direction to waive Environmental Health fees with American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds.  Between January 1, 2022 and June 30, 2022, the County received 318 waiver requests, totaling $60,250.  Approval of this item will move the $60,250 from the ARPA Fund 533 to the General Fund Environmental Health division (100-5000-5300) to replace the lost revenue from waiving the fees.

In accordance with 31 C.F.R. §§ 35.5 and 35.6, and the United States Department of Treasury’s Interim Final Rule, 31 CFR Part 35, Supplementary Information, II. Eligible Uses, small businesses are eligible to receive assistance from the County to adopt safer operating procedures, including COVID-19 mitigation.

Department's Next Steps (if approved):

Interfund transfer from fund 533 to 100-5000-5300.
