Agenda Item Text:
Approve Cooperative Agreement between the Arizona Department of Forestry and Fire Management, and Cochise County, for a term of five years.
Background:
The Arizona Department of Forestry and Fire Management (DFFM) and Cochise County have a mutual interest in protecting forests and wildlands and assisting with fire and non-fire emergencies. The agreement outlines operating procedures such as accepting direction and supervisory assignments, and mechanisms for financial reimbursement of resources assigned to either party. Agreement also outlines recommended/standardized training and stipulation for equipment sharing. Agreement will further allow DFFM and County to engage in joint projects of mutual interest - and, again, establishes conditions for such.
The County Emergency Manager shall serve as the coordinator for all County Departments for this agreement.
Agreement will be effective for 5 years and may be canceled by either party with 30 days written notice.

Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:
