Approve three National Environmental Health Association-U.S. Food and Drug Administration (NEHA-FDA) Retail Flexible Funding Model Grant Program awards for training, G-OATR-202210-03028 in the amount of $6,823, development, G-BDEV2-202210-02892 in the amount of $3,331, and mentorship, G-OAME-202210-02895 in the amount of $13,000, with the Cochise Health & Social Services Environmental Health Division with a grant period for all three of January 1, 2023 through December 31, 2023.
Background:
The training grant will support Environmental Health Staff to attend the National Environmental Health Association AEC Conference and the SA VA (Self-Assessment Verification Audit) workshop at the NEHA AEC in New Orleans, LA.
The development grant will support the Environmental Health division’s work to meet FDA Standard 3 Inspection Program based on HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points) Principles.
The mentorship grant will provide assistance to the Environmental Health division to develop a risk factor study, learn how to develop a study design using both collected and observational data, conduct analysis and with an outcome of creating a report that outlines intervention strategies specific to Cochise County’s needs. This mentorship grant will help Environmental Health work towards meeting FDA Standard 9- Program Assessment.
