Acting as the Board of Directors of the Cochise County Jail District, adopt Jail District Resolution 23-01, approving the ballot language for the May 16, 2023 Election.
Background:
By Board of Supervisors Resolution 22-29 (attached), the Board of Supervisors approved the formation of the Cochise County Jail District, contingent on approval by the voters of a funding a source.
Jail District Resolution 23-01 will:

- Order that the election be held as a mail ballot election;
- Orders that a publicity pamphlet be prepared and distributed in the manner provided by law; and,
- Sets the ballot language for the question to be asked of voters regarding the funding source for the Cochise County Jail District.
Department's Next Steps (if approved):
Continue with preparations for the May 16, 2023 election.
Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:
Ballot language will not be approved in a timely manner.
