Approve the addition of one position control number (PCN) for a new full-time Registered Sanitarian Position to be added to Cochise Health & Social Services, Environmental Health Services Division, effective February 28, 2023.
Background:
On December 13, 2022, Cochise Health and Social Services (CCHSS) Environmental Health (EH) met with the Board of Supervisors in a work session to discuss the need for additional FTE of Registered Sanitarians. The Board of Supervisors (BOS) were presented with Data showing the current workload based on number of licensed establishments in Cochise County compared to what we can accomplish with current staffing levels. While three (3) FTE would allow the EH Division to be fully staffed, the BOS indicated they would support the addition of one (1) additional sanitarian.
Department's Next Steps (if approved):
A requisition for a Registered Sanitarian will be submitted through NEOGov after approval.
Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:
CHSS will continue to struggle to be in compliance with the Delegation Agreement with ADHS for food establishment inspections.
