Appoint Mr. Charles Kendall as the Public Defender, effective April 16, 2023.
Background:
11-581. Public defender; appointment
In any county the board of supervisors may establish the office of public defender and appoint a suitable person to hold that office.
Department's Next Steps (if approved):
Implement administrative processes for on boarding a new appointment.
Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:
The County will not have a Public Defender, as allowed by State statute.
