Approve the transfer of funds in the amount of $500,000 from General Fund Contingency Account to Indigent Defense Coordinator (IDC) budget accounts.
Background:
IDC is requesting contingency funds in the amount of $500,000 for its projected FY11/12 budget shortfall. This budget shortfall is attributable to expenses incurred in two capital felony cases and one capital post-conviction relief case. Please see the attached Memorandum for additional explanation.
Department's Next Steps (if approved):
If approved, IDC will be able to pay court-appointed attorneys' fees and case-related costs for the remainder of FY11/12.
Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:
In not approved, IDC wil be unable to pay court-appointed attorneys' fees and case related costs for the remainder of FY11/12.

If approved, please notify Mike McGinnis, Budget Manager, so he can transfer the funds to the IDC budget.
