Approve second amendment of IGA# ADHS12-007884, Bioterrorism Preparedness Grant for Emergency Preparedness Program to increase the amount by $43,575 for the period of August 31, 2011 and ending June 30, 2013, to a total of $245,171.61.
Background:
The Bioterrorism Preparedness Contract for the Cooperative Agreement (PHEP) Grant, beginning August 31, 2011 and ending August 30, 2016, was approved during the September 27, 2011 Board Meeting. A new Purchase Order was received on November 14, 2011. This amendment increases the funds through carry over from the prior year’s budget by $43,575.00. The new total for the contract is $245,171.61 which shall be spendable through the current grant year. Please see Executive Summary and Budget Tool attached.
Department's Next Steps (if approved):
Submit signed amendment to Az Department of Health Services and await disbursement of award - anticipate receiving funds prior to 7/1/12.
Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:
The Bioterrorism Preparedness Grant Program will be restricted in addressing and completing the associated Public Health Emergency Preparedness Deliverables. The Program will also not be able hire two half time administrative assistants to accomplish the scope of work attached to the IGA for the next 12 months. These carry-over funds would be retained by the State for distribution to other counties.
