Approve Contract 24-01-SWD-01 with Rummel Construction, Inc. for the Construction of Cell 5 located at the Western Regional Landfill in the amount of $3,181,659.61.

Background:

The Public Works/Solid Waste Department contracted with Tetra Tech who developed the Technical Proposal Requirements in the design of a new Cell at the Western Regional Landfill. The Public Works Director worked with Procurement in issuing this requirement through the formal bidding process. The Procurement Department issued Information for Bid 24-01-SWD-01 on May 24, 2023. All interested vendors attended a pre-bid site visit on June 8, 2023. All proposals were due on June 30, 2023. Three vendors submitted proposals.
All proposals were evaluated with the winning bidder being Rummel Construction, Inc.

Department's Next Steps (if approved):

Issue Contract and Purchase Order to Rummel Construction, Inc and begin scheduling the work.

Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:

A new Cell will not be built at the Western Regional Landfill.
The Current Cell being used is near capacity.
