Agenda Item Text:

Approve 144 Environmental Health Fee waivers, totaling $25,900, to be paid from the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds.

Background:

In FY22 the Board of Supervisors provided County staff direction to waive Environmental Health fees with American RescuePlan Act (ARPA) funds. Between July 1, 2022 and December 31, 2022, the County received 144 waiver requests, totaling $25,900. Approval of this item will move the $25,900 from the ARPA Fund 533 to the General Fund Environmental Healthdivision (100-5000-5300) to replace the lost revenue from waiving the fees.
In accordance with 31 C.F.R. §§ 35.5 and 35.6, and the United States Department of Treasury’s Interim Final Rule, 31 CFRPart 35, Supplementary Information, II. Eligible Uses, small businesses are eligible to receive assistance from the County to adopt safer operating procedures.
