Approve Intergovernmental Agreement DI23-002392 between Arizona Department of Economic Security and Cochise County; the One-Stop System Memorandum of Understanding with the ARIZONA@WORK-Southeastern Arizona Local Workforce Development Board; and the ARIZONA@WORK-Southeastern Arizona Infrastructure Funding Agreement to implement the requirements under the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act, effective through June 30, 2028.
Background:
The purpose of the Intergovernmental Agreement, WIOA Title 1 Adult, Dislocated Worker, and Youth Programs is to implement the requirements under Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Title 1 Adult, Dislocated Worker, and Youth Programs for the local Workforce Development Area (LWDA), including activities of the Local Workforce Development Board (LWDB), Chief Elected Officials (CEO), and services to eligible Adults< Dislocated Workers, and Youth. These activities and services will be provided in accordance with Federal and State laws and regulations, State policies, and in alignment with the current Unified Workforce Development Plan.
Department's Next Steps (if approved):
Ms. Vada Phelps will continue to have the two original copies of both the MOU and IGA as well as 4 original copies of the IGA signed and submitted to the State of Arizona for program compliance.
Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:
ARIZONA@WORK, SEAZ will not be certified as a local workforce area.
