Approve Contract 23-01-FAC-01 with KWR Construction for the construction of a Facilities maintenance building in the amount of $2,753,551.55 and approve Proposal with KE&G for utility trenching in the amount of $123,598.00 at parcel 102-30-114W, 1228 Hereford Rd. Bisbee, AZ 85603, effective January 23, 2024.

Background:

The Facilities Management Department worked with Procurement in issuing requirements for the construction of the Facilities Maintenance Building through the formal bidding process. The Procurement Department issued Request for Proposal 23-01-FAC-01 with a deadline of February 10, 2023. All bidding vendors attended a site visit. All proposals were reviewed with the winning bidder being KWR Construction.

KE&G will do the utility trenching under City of Tucson Contract #171729.

Department's Next Steps (if approved):

If approved, issue purchase orders to KWR Construction and KE&G and schedule the work.

Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:

The Facilities maintenance building would not be constructed and utilities would not be established.
