Agenda Item Text:

Approve the transfer of AreaRAE Pro Rapid Deployment Kit equipment from Cochise County Emergency Services to the City of Tucson Fire Department, per the terms of the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) grant HM-HMP-0583-1601-HMEP.

Background:

In May 2020, Cochise County received an award from the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) Hazardous Materials Emergency Preparedness grant for the AreaRAE Pro Rapid Deployment Kit (RDK), and Cochise County subsequently purchased this equipment for $77,816. The AreaRAE PRO RDK is a set of four sensors which detect hazardous chemicals.  Cochise Emergency Services has consulted with Fry Fire, Douglas Fire and Sunsites-Pearce HAZMAT teams and determined this equipment would be better utilized by the Tucson Fire Department HAZMAT team.  The equipment could still be used locally in Cochise County, in partnership with Tucson Fire Department.

Specific Equipment to be transferred:
AreaRAE PRO Rapid Deployment Kit, PN:W01R-111101-7569CF-0001
RAE Link3 (x1): 995-006803
