Information
Agenda Item Text:
Approve Amendment 1 of Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) CTR063847 between the Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS) and Cochise County Health & Social Services (CHSS) for the Arizona Prescription Drug Overdose Prevention Program, in the amount of $247,270, effective September 30, 2023 - September 29, 2024.
Background:
The original Overdose Prevention Contract with ADHS was approved February 2023. The renewal of this grant funding will continue to support the overdose fatality review board tasks, enhance the linkages to care services provided by the public health social worker, housed at the Cochise County Jail; by identifying the needs of incarcerated individuals and coordinating outpatient and inpatient behavioral health services upon release.
This is a grant-funded cost reimbursement IGA through ADHS in the amount of $247,270. Funds are a combination of federal and state funding. This IGA currently funds 2.45 FTEs.

Department's Next Steps (if approved):
This program will continue serving recently released individuals from the jail. The OFR team will meet to review and provide prevention recommendations to ADHS.
Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:
Not approving this grant amendment would eliminate the ability to provide prevention-based strategies around opioid use disorder linkages to care services and the Overdose Fatality Review committee program.
To BOS Staff: Document Disposition/Follow-Up:
Send signed IGA to CCHSS, Suzanne Hagle, Prevention Services Division Director.
