Approve Amendment 2024-21 to Governor's Office of Highway Safety (GOHS) Grant 2024-PTS-077 in the amount of $6,034.89.
Background:
The Governor's Office of Highway Safety (GOHS) has provided funds over many years to assist with traffic-related enforcement and alcohol-related issues. At the conclusion of the grant cycle FY22-23 the Sheriff's Office mistakenly returned unused funds to GOHS. These funds were marked to be used for a GOHS vehicle outfitting (emergency equipment). Upon realizing the mistake, we requested GOHS return the funds so that the emergency equipment could be installed. The addition of these funds would bring the total contract amount to $23,306.22.
Department's Next Steps (if approved):
If approved, the Sheriff's Office will pay for the vehicle upfit with the money provided by the Governor's Office of Highway Safety.
Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:
If not approved, the vehicle's upfit will have to be paid out of the general fund.
