Information
Agenda Item Text:
Accept an Arizona State Housing Trust Fund Grant, to be used for the creation of a Cochise County Affordable Housing Plan, in the amount of $194,450.
Background:
On June 11, 2024, the Arizona Department of Housing awarded Cochise County a competitive grant in the amount of $194,450.00 to prepare an Affordable Housing Plan. Cochise County does not have an Affordable Housing Plan and such a plan will enable the County to make strategic decisions and investments in affordable housing in the future. The grant will fund the procurement of a professional consultant to prepare the Affordable Housing Plan. The Cochise County Development Services Department will administer the grant.
Department's Next Steps (if approved):
If the grant is accepted, the Development Services Department will procure a professional consultant to prepare the Affordable Housing Plan.
Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:
If the grant is not accepted, Cochise County will lose the opportunity to fund an Affordable Housing Plan with this funding.
