Agenda Item Text:
Approve amended budget and extended period of performance from July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2024 to July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2025 for the Emergency Management Performance Grant EMF-2023-EP-00008-S01.
Background:
In FY24, Cochise County Emergency Management was unable to fully expend its personnel budget in the Emergency Management Performance Grant (EMPG) EMF-2023-EP-00008-S01 grant; now we request to amend the grant budget and extend the period of performance. The Arizona Department of Emergency and Military Affairs EMPG program has approved the grant budget amendment and extended period of performance for the purpose of a SEACOM EOC special project.
Requesting to extend the period of performance for the EMPG 2023 grant from July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2024 to July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2025. Requesting to amend the grant budget and move $19,000 from Personnel and Fringe to Supplies. No changes to the total grant award of $146,489.50 which is a federal 50% match.
The SEACOM EOC special project will provide redundant communication and technology upgrades to the SEACOM Emergency Operations Center (EOC).

Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:
Cochise will lose $19,000 in grant funding and be unable to complete the SEACOM EOC project. SEACOM EOC will have less redundancy.
