Approve Grant Agreement 3-04-0049-018-2024 for Architectural Design and Engineering Service to Rehabilitate the Large Hangar at the Bisbee-Douglas International (BDI) Airport. Funded by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL), in the amount of $95,531, with a County match of $4,689.
Background:
The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) provides $562,000 in funding for BDI projects to improve airport facilities. The available funds will be used to rehabilitate the large hangar at the airport. After the hangar rehabilitation is designed, the next step using the remaining funds is construction.
Department's Next Steps (if approved):
Direct the County's Airport consultant to move forward with design to rehabilitate the hangar.
Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:
The large hangar at BDI will continue to deteriorate and fall into disrepair.
