Agenda Item Text:
Approve Contract 25-03-HEA-01 between Cochise Harm Reduction (CHR) and Cochise County Health & Social Services (CCHSS), for Syringe Exchange Services in support of the Justice Reinvestment Fund established through an act of Legislation in the amount of $145,000 effective November 12, 2024, through October 31, 2025.
Background:
On 2/22/2022, the Cochise County Board of Supervisors approved proposition 207 funds to be used by CCHSS. This service agreement with CHR will use the funds generated by the Justice Reinvestment dollars.
CHR is a grassroots harm reduction organization serving Cochise County. They mitigate the barriers to health care faced by those impacted by substance abuse. Their mission is to minimize the spread of infectious disease and the occurrence of overdose fatalities in the community. CHR provides direct services, education, outreach, and advocacy to Cochise County residents experiencing inequities in their health care needs.
Cochise Harm Reduction will be required to provide us with an annual report of their efforts and the impact on our community members.
The revenue has already been received.
