Approve a letter to the State Broadband Director, Sandip Bhowmick, supporting Valley TeleCom's application for funding through the Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) Program for all areas of Cochise County served by Valley TeleCom not designated under the Rural Digital Opportunity Fund (RDOF) program.
Background:
The State Broadband Office will select an Internet Service Provider (ISP) to receive BEAD funding to install fiber in Cochise County. Valley TeleCom has proven to be an exemplary partner in addressing these challenges and is well-suited to expanding high-speed internet access in our region.
Department's Next Steps (if approved):
Development Services will mail the signed letter to the representative at Valley TeleCom
Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:
If the support letter is not approved, the State Broadband Office will rate Valley TeleCom's application for BEAD funding lower than possible.
