Approve the transfer of general funds to the Elections Department to procure two Opex 410 Automated Letter Openers, in the amount of $27,000.
Background:
The letter opener in use at elections is near its end of life and must be operated in a separate room because it is extremely loud.
Department's Next Steps (if approved):
Move funds from general fund contingency and purchase the automated letter opener.
Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:
Future elections will be at risk of tabulator equipment failure.
