Approve the recommendation from the Merit Award System Board for Employee Merit Award distributions in Fleet, Heavy Fleet and Cochise Health Systems.

Background:

The Board approved the formation of the Merit Award System Board at its 2/15/11 meeting.   After that meeting and as per new policy/procedure, the Merit Award System Board met on 3/7/11 to review the recommendations from Gayland Davis, Ruben Miranda, and Mary Gomez (Heavy Fleet, Fleet, and CHS Directors) for distributions to individual employees in each of those departments.   The Merit Award System Board is comprised of the County Administrator, Deputy County Administrator, and Human Resources Director. 

Department's Next Steps (if approved):

Process records for HR and send excel spreadsheet to Finance for processing separate from regular payroll checks.

Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:

Loss of opportunity to award employees for ideas and procedures resulting in an improvement of County operations in the public interest.
