Presentation on a pending declaration of Willcox as an American Viticulture Area.
Background:
Cellar 433 has submitted a pending application to the US Dept of Agriculture, to declare the Willcox viticulture area an “American Viticulture Area” (AVA). Napa Valley is an example of an AVA, and Mr. Hagar wants the Board to be aware of the economic possibilities for Cochise County. Sonoita is the only AVA currently in Arizona, but Willcox has already surpassed them in grapes produced. We are on the edge of an exploding industry in the Willcox growing area.
