Approve Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) award #120-14 from the Arizona Department of Housing for repairs to the Elfrida Water Improvement District effective April 14, 2014 to May 1, 2016 in the amount of $112,000.
Background:
Two public hearings were held to select projects for consideration of funding. These dates were January 8, 2013 and February 26, 2013. A work session was held on February 12, 2013, and a final public hearing was conducted on April 9, 2013 to adopt Resolution 13-11.
The Board unanimously voted to award funding for the following repairs to the Elfrida Water Improvement District:
Remove and replace 50,000 gallon steel water tank. Clean and deepen an existing well 400’ and install steel liner and re-set existing submersible pump.
Cost of the project is $96,000 with an additional $16,000 awarded for direct administration overhead costs to run the construction project. There is no county match required.

Department's Next Steps (if approved):
Two originals of the Grant Agreement will be provided to the Clerk of the Board. After formal Board approval and appropriate signatures, please return both (two) signed originals to Lisa Marra. After the Az. Dept of Housing has signed and returned one original, it will be forwarded to the Board office for record.

Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:
If this Grant Agreement is not approved, the County will lose State approved CDBG entitlement funding and the repairs to the water district will not be completed
