Approve the acceptance of a donation of a 2011 Ford Truck for the Cochise County Sheriff's Office to be used as a replacement vehicle for the Sheriff's Office Southeastern Arizona Border Region Enforcement (SABRE) Unit.
Background:
A private foundation is donating a 2011 Ford F-150 Raptor 4x4 P.U. truck with 7,564 miles to the Cochise County Sheriff's Office. Estimated value of the vehicle to be donated is 48,000.00. The vehicle is to be utilized as a replacement for one of the vehicles currently used by the CCSO SABRE Unit, which exceeds maximum mileage for use in the fleet and is slated for replacement. The donated vehicle is more than adequate, mechanically and utilitarian, for Sheriff's Office vehicle use. Vehicle I.D. number 1FTEX1R62BFD05143.
Department's Next Steps (if approved):
Vehicle will be inspected by fleet services and equipped with emergency lights and radios. Upon completion, vehicle will enter the fleet and be assigned to the CCSO SABRE Unit for full time use until it reaches the maximum mileage of 160,000 miles.
Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:
At its own expense, County will have to purchase a replacement vehicle.
