Approve the award of Invitation for Bids (IFB) No. 14-32-FSD-04 to Bear Cat Manufacturing, Inc. for the purchase of one Chip Spreader for the Fleet Services Department in the amount of $260,500 plus applicable tax.
Background:
IFB 14-32-FSD-04 was released on February 26, 2014. The bid was advertised in the Arizona Range News on March 5 and 12, 2014 and bid notices were e-mailed to 39 vendors registered in the Public Procurement e-Procurement database. One bid was received prior to the bid closing date and time of March 20, 2014 at 4:00 p.m. A bid tabulation is attached which references Bear Cat Manufacturing as the only responsive and responsible bidder.

Issue purchase order, inspect vehicles upon delivery.
Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:
Existing equipment will be pushed beyond its recommended replacement time which will result in increased major repairs and increased equipment down time. The Highways Division work schedules and IGA contracts will also be impacted.
