Agenda Item Text:
Approve a proclamation to proclaim April 2014 as National County Government Month - "Ready and Resilient Counties: Prepare. Respond. Thrive." in support of the effort to educate and engage residents about the value of available services in Cochise County and the positive impact these services can have on the lives of County residents.
Background:
National County Government Month — held each April — is an annual celebration of county government. Since 1991, the National Association of Counties has encouraged counties to actively promote the services and programs they offer.
Counties can schedule activities any time during the month. NCGM is an excellent opportunity for Cochise County to highlight effective county programs and raise public awareness and understanding about the various services provided
to the community. This year’s theme is "Ready and Resilient Counties: Prepare. Respond. Thrive."
