Approve the acceptance of a donation of a John Deere Gator Utility Vehicle to the Sheriff's Office for use at the Sheriff's Shooting Range and off road.
Background:
A donation of a 2013 John Deere Gator Utility Vehicle Ser. # 1M0855DFEDM060211 has been made by the HGB Foundation to the Sheriff's Office. The main intented use of this vehicle is to move equipment such as targets, ammunition etc for the new Sherrif's Office range. This vehicle will also be used for other missions including when necessary for off-road and community events such as parades.
This vehicle was donated at no cost to the county. Maintenance costs will be paid through the Sheriff's Office fleet budget.

Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:
Moving of range equipment, including steel targets will have to be done using a normal sized pick-up truck. The smaller, more maneuverable Gator will work better under these conditions.
