Approve the extension to Agreement #06-0018, ADEQ Delegation Agreement, between the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality and the Cochise County Health Department for the period of 7/1/11 - 6/30/12.
Background:
The Environmental Health Division of the Health Department is the entity which carries out environmental inspections for the State in Cochise County under the authority delegated to Cochise County by the ADEQ. Selected delegated functions from the State to Cochise County fall under areas of individual and commercial onsite sewage treatment systems, aka septic systems. Also delegated is the authority to collect fees that are established by the BOS.

Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:
Not approving this Delegation Agreement will leave the ADEQ without a local agent in Cochise County to whom it can delegate its duties and authorities under ARS 36-182. The State requires the County's assistance in this regard. Additionally, without this delegation agreement sanitary inspections of septic systems would not take place in Cochise County.
