Approve a Proclamation declaring September 2014 to be Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.
Background:
Proclamation to recognize September 2014 as Childhood Cancer Awareness Month was requested by Mr. Steven Firestein, M.A., Volunteer Director, American Cancer Fund for Children, Inc.
Cancer is the leading cause of death by disease among children in our nation today. The ACFC will continue to coordinate activities including our popular Courageous Kid Recognition Award presentation and other hospital functions at Phoenix Children’s Hospital among other facilities.
