Agenda Item Text:
Approve the Community Punishment Program Criminal Justice Enhancement Fund (CJEF) Grant for Adult Probation to fund substance abuse and sex offender treatment in the amount $40,000 effective July 1, 2014 to June 30, 2015.
Background:
The Community Punishment Program provides Criminal Justice Enhancement Fund (CJEF) monies which fund substance abuse and sex offender treatment.
Department's Next Steps (if approved):
If approved, our department will use funding to provide drug testing, outpatient treatment, and sex offender treatment to probationers throughout Cochise County.
Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:
If the CJEF grant is not approved, we will not be able to provide treatment services to our probationers, which is an integral component for their success on probation while helping them achieve and maintain sobriety.
