Agenda Item Text:
Adopt Resolution 15-07 transferring all right, title and interest in right-of-way of parcel 409-05-014 to the City of Douglas.
Background:
In 1921 the County was deeded tax parcel # 409-05-014 to be used for unknown purposes. The parcel is now serving as right-of-way in the middle of the City of Douglas' parking lot that borders 11th Street. See the attached map. The City has asked the County to deed this parcel to it in order to clean up title. The County is authorized to transfer title to right-of-way to a City at no cost pursuant to A.R.S. § 9-471.N. Since this parcel has no use to the County, and is potentially a liability, we recommend that the County transfer title to the City via the attached Resolution.
Department's Next Steps (if approved):
Remove tax parcel #409-05-014 from the list of County real estate assets
Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:
The County will retain unnecessary right-of-way
To BOS Staff: Document Disposition/Follow-Up:
Sign and record the Resolution transferring title to Douglas
