Approve demands over six months to Arizona Department of Corrections in the amount of $12,309.74 for inmate transportation.
Background:
On August 21, 2015 Arizona Department of Corrections sent a letter advising that an internal audit revealed Arizona Department of Corrections had not been appropriately billing for the cost of inmate transportation. We were told that as of fiscal year 2016, the Department would begin billing for these costs. This billing, however, was not completed until recently, resulting in a full year of invoicing. Due to this, Arizona Department of Corrections is requesting payment for fiscal year 2016 inmate transportation costs. These costs were incurred July 1, 2015 to June 30, 2016, resulting in demands over 6 months.
We have been advised in the future, billing will occur on a monthly cycle so as not to exceed the statutory limit.

If approved, invoices will be paid immediately.
