Approve the Airport Development Reimbursable Grant Agreement # E7F2Q 01C with the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) in the amount of $13,266 with a local match share of $13,266 for the Taxiway A edge lighting; Wind Cone relocation; Segmented Circle; Rotating Beacon; and to install Guidance Signs at the Cochise County Airport effective November 18, 2016 to November 17, 2020.
Background:
This project has been listed in the five-year Airport Capital Improvement Plan (ACIP) since 2012. Without these repairs, which are safety related, future development and reconstruction of runways and taxiways will be delayed. By completing this phase of development, the airport property will remain a viable part of the regional airport system and stay on track for funding from the FAA and ADOT.
The Grant from FAA in the amount of $270,258 was signed by the Board on August 19, 2016. This ADOT grant is for their 4.47% of the total cost of the project which is $296,792.

Department's Next Steps (if approved):
Two originals of the ADOT Agreement will be provided to the Clerk of the Board. After formal Board approval and appropriate signatures, please return both (two) signed originals to Lisa Marra. After ADOT has signed and returned one original, it will be forwarded to the Board office for record.
Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:
If this Grant Agreement is not approved, the County will lose State approved funding on the airport project. If this project is not completed, it would set back the dates for scheduled development and construction of future airport construction that has been budgeted by the FAA and ADOT through 2021. We will also be out of Federal compliance with lighting and signage requirements for airports.
