Approve a $500 expenditure that will allow the Centenial Committee to purchase 5,000 additional Centennial newspaper inserts.
Background:
The Centennial Planning Committee was awarded a $10,000 grant from the Arizona Humanities Council that, together with a $5,000 match, will allow the printing of 25,000 Centennial booklets to be distributed free to Cochise County families. Wick Communications is donating a newspaper insert of the booklet to be distributed at the County Fair this September. Becausee the newspaper template will already be made, there is an opportunity for 5,000 additional inserts to be printed at a cost of only $500.
The Committee has appealed to Cochise County Government for the $500 to cover the cost of the extra inserts. The back page of the insert will highlight the County's role in the Centennial project along with other project sponsers.
