Approve new restructured lease for Dr. Michael Ames for operation of an animal crematorium at the Bisbee Douglas International (BDI) cannery building for one year with the option to renew on an annual basis for ten years.
Background:
Dr. Ames has operated this facility for a number of years. The prior lease was for a ten year term. Because of conditions of some adjoining facilities and possible future direction of BDI, it is in the County's best interest to have shorter term leases with renewal options.
Department's Next Steps (if approved):
Deliver executed lease to Dr. Ames
Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:
County and BDI would lose viable business and revenue from lease.
