Approve the appointments of the following individuals to the Building Code Advisory and Appeals Board: Sharon Flissar to replace Mike Hemesath as the professional engineer board member and fill a two-year term due to expire on September 25, 2019; Reappoint Ray Klumb as the licensed architect board member and fill a two-year term due to expire on September 25, 2019; and reappoint Jim Olander as the electrical trade board member and fill a four-year term due to expire on September 25, 2021.
Background:
The Cochise County Building Code Advisory and Appeals Board (BCAAB) was established in September 2013 as a seven-member board to hear and decide appeals of orders, decisions or determinations made by the Building Official regarding application and interpretation of the adopted building codes; to determine the appropriateness of alternative building materials and construction methods and to advise the Building Official and Planning, Zoning and Building Safety Division on proposed revisions or additions to adopted building codes.
The BCAAB unanimously recommended reappointment of Ray Klumb and Jim Olander at their August 15, 2017 Board meeting.

Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:
Should these appointments not be approved, the Building Code Advisory and Appeals Board will remain short three Board members.
