Approve the contract amendment with the Arizona Department of Corrections Agreement #18-043-23 Correctional Officer Certification Training.
Background:
The Cochise County Sheriff's Officer utilizes The Correctional Officer Training Academy to train its Detention Officers. We have had this agreement with the state for over 20 years.
Department's Next Steps (if approved):
Upon Board approval the Sheriff's Office will continue to utilize the Correctional Officer Training Academy to train and certify our Detention Officers.
Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:
If not approved the Sheriffs Office would have to find alternative and more costly ways to train and certify its Detention Officers.
To BOS Staff: Document Disposition/Follow-Up:
Upon Board approval please sign the agreement and return the original to the Sheriff's Office so we can forward to ADOC.
