Adopt Zoning Ordinance 18-09, approving Docket Z-18-08, amending certain zoning district boundaries from R-36 (Residential; one dwelling per 36,000 square feet) to RU-4 (Rural; one dwelling per four acres), pursuant to the application of Daniel Thiels.

Background:

The Applicant is requesting a rezoning from R-36 (Residential; one dwelling per 36,000 square feet) to RU-4 (Rural; one dwelling per four acres).  The request is to facilitate a home built under the Cochise County Owner Opt-Out Amendment.  The subject parcel is 10.02 acres in size.
The subject parcel, APN 401-17-306, is located on the west side of S. Kit Carson Road north of Sunizona. It is further described as being situated in Section 01 of Township 18 South, Range 26 East of the G&SRB&M, in Cochise County, Arizona. The Applicant is Daniel T. Thiels.
 

Department's Next Steps (if approved):

The Ordinance and Conditions will be recorded and the official zoning map will be updated.

Impact of NOT Approving/Alternatives:

The zoning of the parcel will remain R-36 and the owner will be unable to utilize the Cochise County Owner Builder Opt-Out Amendment.
